Job summary

Qualifications

• Must meet CLIA 88 personnel requirements for high complexity testing.
• Associate’s degree in an accredited MLT program is required.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret scientific/technical material.
• Strong math, reasoning and problem–solving abilities.
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs high/medium/waived laboratory testing per SOPs.
• Recognizes and corrects instrument malfunctions and documents issues.
• Confirms, verifies and reports test results independently.
• Monitors results for reasonableness and critical values.
• Assists physicians in interpretation of results when appropriate.
• Provides education/training to new staff and students.
• Prepares and collects specimens for analysis.
• Participates in CSI and continuing education activities.
