Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Baccalaureate degree in medical technology, biology, chemistry, or related science.
• Experience: 15 years or more in a CLIA certified laboratory in lieu of degree.
• Certifications: ASCP, AMT, and/or NCA preferred or eligible.
• Mathematical, computer, reasoning, and language skills at the college level.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived and non-waived complexity analysis of patient specimens for diagnostic purposes.
• Practices clinical laboratory science according to CAP, CLIA ’88, JCAHO, AABB, and policy.
• Monitors quality control data and instrument maintenance.
• Participates in policy review and performance improvement processes.
• Performs procedures in specialty areas to optimize pre-, post-analytical steps.
