Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Phlebotomist certificate preferred.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in laboratory procedures.
• Must be able to separate plasma and operate laboratory centrifuges.
• Working knowledge of Florida OSHA guidelines.
• Thorough in task completion - attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified.

Responsibilities

• Follow protocol guidelines for preparation, collection, transfer and storage of all specimens.
• Monitor proper study sample collection.
• Ensure study data is collected to a high quality per GCP standards.
• Ensure subject safety at all times.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of workspace.
• Operate centrifuges and separate plasma as required by protocol.
• Document times of processing and storage in appropriate records.
• Dispose of biohazard materials in approved containers and label accordingly.
• Monitor and record lab equipment temperatures and status.
• Assist in inventory of lab supplies and processing of study documents.
