Job summary

Prisma Health’s Verdae site is seeking an on-site Laboratory Technician to support diagnostic testing and ensure accuracy in all laboratory procedures. You will handle specimen collection and labeling, operate laboratory instruments, and maintain data integrity in the LIS/SAP systems.

Ideal candidates have an Associate degree in a lab science or medical technology and can participate in quality control, safety, and continuing education programs.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree in a laboratory science or medical technology.
• Experience: No experience required.
• In lieu of education/experience, CLA or MLT military training with certification may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Performs and reports test results for waived, moderate and high complexity procedures as assigned.
• Operates computerized laboratory data systems and reviews pending work.
• Verifies patient, specimen, and result identification and ensures specimen integrity.
• Participates in QC and QM; monitors supplies and inventory; maintains equipment when needed.
• Maintains safety, complies with policies and procedures, and promotes quality initiatives.
