Job summary

Labcorp in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Technologist to join our clinical laboratory team. The role involves testing specimens, operating instruments, and ensuring quality results that support patient care in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science or MLS certification, with 1+ year of lab testing experience. ASCP/AMT certification is preferred, and applicants must work well in a team and maintain accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology required or MLS degree.
• At least 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience if not MLS.
• ASCP or AMT certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental procedures.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and PPE compliance.
