Job summary

Texas Oncology Granbury Laboratory is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLT/MLS) to join our team. This full-time role supports the Granbury location with occasional coverage for nearby sites. This is a Monday–Friday 8am–5pm position with no weekends, call, or major holidays.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in medical technology or related science.
• Current state license if required.
• AMT/ASCP or equivalent certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with performing phlebotomy and collecting appropriate specimens from patients as ordered.
• Assists with special procedures as needed (e.g. bone marrow in the room).
• Follows laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and records of patient results.
• Performs specimen analysis of Chemistry, Hematology and Immunology specimens.
• Maintains and operates all laboratory equipment and performs instrument maintenance.
• Participates in proficiency testing by performing analysis and reporting results.
• Prepares peripheral blood smear and performs WBC differential.
• Performs microscopic examination of urinary sediment.
• Ensures proper documentation and records, and processes send-out testing.
