Job summary

MUSC Health Orangeburg is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our laboratory team. The role performs moderate and high complexity testing under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager, delivering accurate results to support patient care.

Ideal candidates will have strong technical expertise, excellent communication, and commitment to quality and safety. The position requires 40 hours weekly, daytime shifts, and will be employed by MUSC Health.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in chemical or biological sciences including 24 semester hours of science courses that include 6 chemistry, 6 biology, and 12 semester hours of any combination of chemical or biological sciences.
• Experience: 0-6 Months

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate and high complexity testing under the general supervision of the Laboratory Manager.
• Conduct routine laboratory testing and quality control testing.
• Maintain instruments and troubleshoot equipment.
• Report critical and abnormal results to providers.
• Document results in the laboratory information system.
• Communicate technical information clearly to stakeholders.
