Job summary

MUSC Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform diagnostic lab tests, prepare specimens for examination, and operate laboratory equipment. Ideal candidates will be graduates of accredited programs and may have certification in ASCP, AMT, NCA, or HEW within one year.

With one to two years of laboratory experience preferred, new graduates are encouraged to apply. Full-time positions offer state health and retirement benefits in South Carolina.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited/NAACLS approved program for Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).
• ASCP, AMT, NCA, or HEW certification required within 1 year.
• One to two years’ experience in an accredited laboratory preferred, new graduates considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic medical lab tests as per protocols.
• Prepare specimens for microscopic examination.
• Operate automated laboratory instrumentation.
• Record lab results in the specified system.
