Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 4+ years technical experience in a related laboratory setting.
• Demonstrated leadership experience.
• Qualified by CLIA/CAP standards minimally as a general supervisor.
• Preferred: Certification by national laboratory accrediting agency.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine procedures of a Medical Lab Scientist, including data collection and analysis that influence patient care decisions.
• Maintain procedures knowledge and strong technical proficiency; support testing needs and assist staff with routine testing and maintenance.
• Supervise reporting personnel; participate in recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations; develop staff and ensure clear communication of initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local requirements; ensure safety and infection control standards.
• Assist with department budgeting, monitor expenditures, revenue and allocations; support major purchases and fiscal reporting.
• Lead quality assurance activities; monitor testing processes, drive improvements, and provide operational leadership in CAP-certified environments.
