Job summary

UVA Community Health, part of the UVA Health system, seeks a laboratory professional to perform patient and QC testing, maintain competency, and ensure timely reports. You will monitor instruments, manage supplies, and support quality and safety programs.

A Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related field and ASCP/AMT MT certification are required or expected. The role is classified as non-exempt, on-site at UVA’s Warrenton location with an hourly base pay of $40.06.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related field; NAACLS accreditation recommended.
• 1 year of experience preferred but not required; MT/ASCP or AMT-MT certification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory operations required.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient and QC testing as per departmental policy.
• Maintains instrument performance and troubleshoots issues promptly.
• Manages inventory and ensures proper storage of reagents.
• Ensures turnaround time targets and documentations are met.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
