The role involves performing waived, moderate, or high-complexity tests under CLIA, adhering to quality control, and ensuring accurate reporting of patient results.

Ideal candidates hold ASCP certification (or equivalent), have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant science, and possess or pursue state licensure as required.

Qualifikationen

• ASCP certification or equivalent within 18 months of employment.
• One year hospital laboratory experience preferred but not required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or CLIA-equivalent.
• Current and valid state license if required by the state.

Aufgaben

• Perform waived, moderate, or high-complexity tests as authorized by CLIA.
• Adhere to procedures for collection, processing, analysis and reporting of patient test results.
• Follow quality control policies and document corrective actions.
• Identify problems affecting test performance and notify supervisor or Medical Director.
• Perform maintenance on instruments daily, weekly, or monthly as needed.
• Review accuracy of patient results prior to release.
• Assist in development and maintenance of laboratory policies and procedures.
• Adhere to safety, infection control and emergency preparedness policies.
• May serve as Lead Tech in supervisor's absence.
• May be assigned LIS and/or POCT-related tasks.

Ausbildung

ASCP certification or equivalent

1 year hospital laboratory work experience (preferred)

Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or Medical Laboratory Technology

Current and Valid State License if applicable
