Job summary

Cache Valley Hospital in Utah is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our Laboratory team. You will handle blood specimens, perform routine and special tests, and operate automated analyzers and microscopes to support accurate diagnoses.

Qualifications include a Medical Technology degree with ASCP certification, licensure within a year of hire, and BLS. Prior hospital lab experience is preferred, with opportunities for growth within a leading HCA Healthcare network.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Technology program with certification eligibility.
• National certification as MT/MLS/MLT from ASCP or equivalent.
• Licensure completed within 1 year of hire.
• One year hospital or clinical laboratory experience preferred; new grads considered.
• BLS or BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Receive blood specimens, perform blood tests and study morphology.
• Run routine or special tests using automated and manual methods.
• Maintain and use laboratory equipment including analyzers and osmometers.
• Perform antibody screening, identification and cross-matching.
• Notify units/physicians of critical lab values.
• Adopt new testing methods and instrumentation to stay current.
