Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare Inc. seeks a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform a variety of laboratory tests in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and transfusion services, contributing to accurate patient diagnoses.

You will ensure quality control, calibrations, data recording, and instrument troubleshooting while maintaining safety and collaborating with healthcare professionals to support patient care decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory/medical technology science or equivalent.
• MLS/MLT coursework with internship and eligibility to sit for the BOC.
• ASCP certification or equivalent required.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, holidays, nights and on-call.
• Montana state licensure may be required.
• Foreign transcript evaluation may be required for some applicants.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required where applicable.
• Experience with MLS/MLT certifications and education pathways preferred.
• Experience with laboratory information systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of laboratory tests on blood, tissue, and other body fluids to aid diagnosis.
• Analyze test results to provide accurate data for patient care.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment with proper calibration.
• Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare, collect, and handle samples following protocols.
• Record and report test results clearly for healthcare providers.
• Maintain laboratory safety and sterile environment.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues promptly.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals on test results.
