Job summary

TalentBurst, Inc is seeking a local contract Medical Lab Scientist for a 12-week engagement in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The role is 40 hours per week with an 8-hour shift, starting 11/23/2026.

Qualified candidates will have a BS in Medical Technology or related field, MT/MLT certification or eligibility, and at least 1 year of high-complexity testing experience. Pay range is $28.66–$32.88 per hour and this is a local contract through TalentBurst.

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology preferred; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or Associate degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• National certification as MT/MLT (ASCP or AMT) or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, testing and reporting.
• Maintain records for proficiency testing and QA/QC activities.
• Analyze specimens using approved procedures and validate results.
• Review and release test results; ensure confidentiality and data integrity.
• Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and Safety guidelines; participate in safety training.
• Identify and correct issues affecting test performance; notify supervisor as needed.
• Document all corrective actions and report STAT/critical results.
• Maintain on-site testing records and reagents documentation.
• Review new procedures and participate in department trainings.
• Support regulatory inspections and general departmental duties.
