Job summary

Prime Healthcare in Leavenworth, KS is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist II (Med Tech) for night shifts at Saint John Hospital. The role blends technical expertise and teamwork to support diagnostic care.

Licensed MLS/MT candidates, ASCP or equivalent certification preferred; entry-level CLS I with no experience encouraged to apply. Full-time with benefits and a $10,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• ASCP certification or equivalent, or specialized military training in laboratory science required
• Two years of hospital laboratory work experience preferred
• Current and valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required
• Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or Medical Laboratory Technician from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements as stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1489)

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests on blood, tissues, and other bodily fluids to aid in diagnosis
• Interpret lab results and identify abnormalities to help physicians
• Maintain quality control procedures and calibrate lab instruments
• Keep accurate records and input data into laboratory information systems
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulations, and accreditation requirements
• Conduct a wide range of procedures across Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, Immunology

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or Medical Laboratory Technician from an accredited institution, or CLIA requirements
