Job summary

SGS Consulting in California's Sacramento area is seeking a Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform clinical testing and maintain quality control.

The role requires CLIA high-complexity testing experience, hands-on molecular biology skills, real-time PCR, and attention to SOPs. Licensure as CGMBS or CA CLS is preferred; bachelor in Medical Technology or Biological Sciences is required. On-site position with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Must meet CLIA high-complexity testing requirements.
• Experience in a high complexity CLIA/CAP environment preferred.
• Molecular biology, molecular pathology or medical genetics exposure beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical testing of patient samples, including setup of molecular assays.
• Adheres to quality control processes and documents QC activities and instrument maintenance.
• Supports corporate goals and compliance with lab policies and procedures.
• Identifies and reports issues affecting test performance to management.
• Documents corrective actions when tests deviate from specs.
• Maintains lab records, licensure support, and on-site inspections readiness.
• Utilizes the in-house Laboratory Information System (LIS).
