Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking qualified candidates for Clinical Lab Technician, Non-Traditional Technician, or Clinical Lab Scientist roles. Perform routine and complex laboratory tests to aid diagnosis and treatment, assess results, calibrate instruments, and train staff when needed.

Title and pay will be adjusted as appropriate. OSF will invest in you from day 1 with generous time-off benefits and 24 hours of Vacation and Holiday time available from day 1 in addition to other benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science.
• ASCP or AMT CLS exam within the first year of employment.
• Alternative degrees acceptable with CLS certification prior to employment.
• Maintains current certification according to guidelines.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with patients and health care professionals.
• High level of professionalism and ability to work under stress.
• Ability to evaluate, troubleshoot, research and resolve day-to-day problems.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex clinical laboratory tests to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment.
• Assess test results for accuracy and perform maintenance and calibration on instruments.
• May perform blood specimen collection and training of personnel.
• Use independent judgment and maintain required education and certification.
