Job summary

Planet Pharma is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist I to perform laboratory testing, record and review results, and prepare blood components. The role requires adherence to SOPs, cGMPs, and AABB/FDA standards, with careful sample labeling and QC duties.

New grads considered; CA CLS Generalist license preferred. Responsibilities include testing, reporting, inventory management, and compliance across shipping, laboratory, and donor-center areas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biological, physical, or chemical sciences or medical technology preferred.
• New grads will be considered.
• At least 3 months CLS experience preferred.
• Current California CLS Generalist license required.
• MT (ASCP) preferred.
• Blood donor center or transfusion service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing of blood products and donor samples (CBC, pH).
• Record, interpret and report results.
• Ensure accuracy in sample labeling and handling.
• Operate laboratory equipment safely.
• Maintain quality control and preventive maintenance.
