The role emphasizes quality control, delta checks, independent interpretation of results, and collaboration across blood bank, serology, chemistry, hematology and microbiology to ensure reliable patient care.

Qualifications

• Performs accurate and timely laboratory testing and completes records within turnaround targets.
• Demonstrates good judgment and independent thinking in interpreting patient results.
• Maintains required documentation pertaining to patient results and logs.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing by analyzing proficiency testing samples.
• Assume department responsibility in the supervisor's absence.
• Complete all required records/documentation pertaining to patient results.
• Perform stat procedures within established turnaround time targets.
• Demonstrate good judgment and independent thinking in result interpretation.
• Review pending logs and resolve outstanding workload or communicate with staff relief.
• Perform quality control procedures per protocol and handle problem/critical specimens.
