Job summary

AHMC HealthCare is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to oversee routine and STAT tests across Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank, and Microbiology. You will ensure accuracy, document patient data and QC, and collaborate with nursing and medical staff to support patient care.

The role requires maintaining calibration, QC, and maintenance records, troubleshooting instruments, and validating results against prior data while adhering to policy and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
• Valid and current Clinical Laboratory Technologist license (CA).
• BCLS (AHA) within 90 days of hire.
• Strong English communication for caregiver-staff interactions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and perform routine and STAT tests in Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank, and Microbiology.
• Ensure accuracy of results and proper documentation of patient, QC, and maintenance data.
• Consult with nursing and medical staff as needed and monitor section functions.
• Calibrate, perform QC, and document preventive maintenance per policy.
• Report instrument problems and document corrective actions.
• Review results against prior data and address discrepancies.
• Batch testing to optimize turnaround time and ensure safety.
• Assist in training and policy/procedure development for the laboratory.
