Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, or chemical/physical/biological science.
• Current license in the state of practice (if applicable).
• ASCP, AMT or AAB generalist certification as MLS/MT OR ASCP/AAB discipline certs for designated Academic Medical Center facility; incumbents certified after 2004 must complete Maintenance Program.

Responsibilities

• Perform, develop and interpret routine and specialized lab testing with accuracy within established time frames.
• Perform quality control, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting with appropriate documentation.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and accreditation standards; follow safety and proficiency testing protocols.
• Support performance improvement, data collection and cost-reduction initiatives; manage supplies and reagents.
• Adapt communication and procedures to the patient care process; maintain privacy and professional conduct.
• Other related duties as required.
