Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our lab team in New Orleans. You will perform clinical laboratory testing, ensure specimen integrity, and report results to support patient care and diagnosis.

You will work with a dedicated team, adhere to safety policies, maintain equipment, and contribute to quality control and continuous improvement in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Licensed CLG or CLS by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
• Experience in clinical laboratory testing and data reporting is preferred.
• Follows safety and infection control practices in the lab.

Responsibilities

• Verify specimens for testing and prepare reagents and controls.
• Label, accession, and distribute specimens maintaining patient ID integrity.
• Perform gram stains, bacteriology, serology, and routine lab procedures.
• Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and record maintenance logs.
• Analyze quality control materials and report variances to the supervisor.
• Attend to tissue specimens processing and preservation as required.
• Document results, ensure accuracy, and meet turnaround times.
