Responsibilities

• Upholds Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities and applicable laws.
• Provides high level patient care and maintains confidentiality of test results.
• Performs and reports tests for all clinical laboratory procedures, automated and manual, within the laboratory.
• Monitors test data quality, QC, QA, preventive maintenance and proficiency testing.
• Notifies Supervisory team of irregularities affecting results; troubleshoots equipment and methods.
• Consults with physicians and other staff on methodologies, test utilization and interpretation of results.
• Instructs and mentors CLS students and support staff in laboratory procedures.
• Ensures safety, regulatory compliance and proper operation of data systems.
