Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to perform waived, moderate, and high complexity testing across the full analytical workflow. The role includes quality control, data entry, and acting as a technical resource for the lab’s customers.

The ideal candidate has a MLS/CLS credential or recent graduation, plus a Bachelor's degree and strong communication and problem-solving skills. This on-site position supports a dynamic clinical laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of recent clinical laboratory experience as an MLS or recent graduation from an MLS/CLS (Clinical Lab Scientist) Program.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Licensure/certification within 6 months of hire as MLS/MT/CLS or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Testing and processing: Performs waived, moderate, and high complexity testing according to KPWA Laboratory procedures, including pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases.
• Computer data entry and retrieval: Accessions specimens, enters results, retrieves information.
• Technical resource: Resolves problems and answers technical questions; acts as frontline resource to customers of the laboratory.
• Oversee/teach and participate in Performance Improvement activities and test method evaluations.
