Job summary

Mercy Health’s Lourdes Hospital is seeking a Lab Manager to oversee all laboratory services, coordinate with hospital teams, and drive performance improvement while ensuring policies are feasible and compliant.

The role leads staffing, budgeting and project implementation, requires MLS/ASCP certification, a Bachelor's in CLS/related field, and at least 5 years in a lab with leadership experience. Mercy Health offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Biochemistry (required)
• MLS or ASCP Certification (required)
• 5 years of experience in a laboratory tech setting (required)
• Previous leadership experience in a laboratory tech environment (required)

Responsibilities

• Improve Laboratory operations and monitor quality indicators; submit monthly reports
• Hire, staffing, scheduling, and onboarding of new employees; schedule staff to meet service needs and budgets
• Evaluate staff performance and complete performance assessments with input from Lead Technologists or Supervisors
• Coordinate regional laboratory committees and implement new procedures
• Monitor expenses and participate in forecasting, budgeting, and capital planning
• Other duties as assigned
