Job summary

IHA is seeking a supervisor for the core laboratory department to oversee Clinical Laboratory Scientists, Medical Laboratory Technicians, and laboratory assistants. The role includes technical oversight, data review, and staff development in accordance with CLIA and state/federal guidelines.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a laboratory science, California CLS licensure, and 4 years of experience in Chemistry, Hematology, and Transfusion Services in a high-complexity setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution is required.
• Licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist by the State of California is required.
• Board Certification from a governing body acceptable for the State of California (i.e., ASCP) is preferred.
• Supervisory experience or similar leadership experience with an emphasis on developing processes, Lean/process improvement, and working in a collaborative role with lab leadership is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the activities of the Clinical Laboratory Scientists, Medical Laboratory Technicians, and laboratory assistants in the core laboratory department.
• Provide technical oversight, data review, and personnel and department development within regulatory guidelines.
