Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare in Los Angeles, CA, seeks a Laboratory Manager reporting to the Director of Laboratory Services to oversee the daily operation of the clinical laboratory and assist with compliance, quality assurance and LIS issues.

Responsible for directing technical and supervisory activities, maintaining safety, inventory controls, and staff training, while ensuring adherence to CAP, AABB, FDA, OSHA and JCAHO standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Science required.
• 10 years of experience in Clinical Laboratory with at least 5 years in a manager position.
• CA Clinical Laboratory Sciences license.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and supervisory direction to ensure compliance with CAP, AABB, FDA, OSHA and JCAHO standards.
• Ensure activities cover sample collection, testing, proficiency testing, QC/QA, safety and inventory control.
• Direct laboratory activities to deliver high-quality services and efficient use of resources.
• Interview, hire and train staff and communicate effectively with the team.
• Coordinate process changes to maintain high-quality outcomes and meet success indicators.
