Job summary

Laboratory Sciences of Arizona in Mesa, AZ seeks a Lab Assistant to support technicians by collecting, receiving and processing specimens, and preparing samples for analysis. The role may perform waived or limited moderate complexity testing as approved by the CLIA Medical Director.

This position focuses on accuracy, timely processing, QC, and inventory tasks, with an emphasis on customer service and regulatory adherence. Day shift; base pay starts at $19 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; 18+ years old if phlebotomy performed.
• Excellent reading, writing and math abilities.
• Phlebotomy/CLA certification as defined by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Process and prepare patient samples including collection and identification.
• Prepare samples for analytical testing and perform waived or moderate testing under supervision.
• Maintain equipment and monitor QC; assist with inventory and supplies.
• Communicate courteously with internal and external customers; document procedures.
