Job summary

Atlantic Health in Morristown, NJ is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant to support specimen processing, registration, and testing workflow under supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor. You will help maintain accurate documentation, handle equipment, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.

The ideal candidate has at least a high school diploma or GED and 2 years in a clinical lab, with familiarity in HIS/LIS systems.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a clinical laboratory or equivalent.
• Proficiency in patient registration, specimen handling, and lab terminology.
• Experience with HIS/LIS software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process specimens and register tests to maintain workflow efficiency.
• Prepare specimens with proper labeling, distribution, and storage.
• Operate and troubleshoot lab equipment, document temperatures.
• Monitor inventory, check expirations, and maintain clean storage areas.
• Demonstrate proficiency in HIS/LIS for job-related functions.
• Assist training of new staff and complete continuing education.
• Follow PPE protocols and uphold safe workspace standards.
• Adhere to approved SOPs and document control procedures.
