Qualifications

• High School Education or GED required in CA; Associate's/Technical Degree preferred
• 1 year of experience in phlebotomy preferred
• Licensed CPT I (CPTI) required in CA; CPT or CPTII required depending on location
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens for a variety of laboratory tests using age-appropriate techniques
• Receives, sorts, and accession specimens with proper labeling and routing
• Completes computerized tasks for patient registration and test order entry
• Performs post-analytic tasks such as reporting results and organizing files
• Maintains inventory and clean, organized work area; escalates priority tasks as needed
• Adheres to all regulations and safety policies to ensure patient privacy and quality care
