Providence Aberdeen site seeks a Laboratory Assistant to perform clinical laboratory duties, phlebotomy, specimen handling, and waived CLIA testing. You will operate HIS/LIS systems, document results, and support daily workflows in a busy hospital lab.

Qualifications

• Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification upon hire.
• 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant or Laboratory Assistant performing phlebotomy and CLIA waived testing in a clinical setting.
• Preferred: WA State-approved Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy Training Program.

Responsibilities

• Reception and telephone duties, operating laboratory equipment and LIS systems.
• Perform waived CLIA testing (Influenza, RSV, Strep A, urine HCG, MONO, WBC, Hemoglobin, CMP, INR, UA, IFOB).
• Perform quality control on analyzers and document daily worksheets.
• Register, order and obtain patient samples per physician orders.
• Phlebotomy including skin puncture and venipuncture; therapeutic blood collection.
