Qualifikationen

• Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification upon hire.
• 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant or Laboratory Assistant performing phlebotomy and CLIA waived testing in a clinical setting.
• WA State-approved Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy Training Program (preferred).

Aufgaben

• Reception and telephone duties; handling specimens and shipping.
• Perform waived CLIA testing (Influenza, RSV, Group A Strep, urine HCG, MONO, WBC, Hemoglobin, CMP, INR, UA, IFOB).
• Document quality control on analyzers (Piccolo, HemoCue, UroCheck).
• Registering and obtaining patient samples per physician orders.
• Phlebotomy: collect blood samples (venipuncture and skin puncture).
• Order and distribute supplies; support daily worksheets.
• Must adapt to varying shifts.

Jobbeschreibung

The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for clinical laboratory duties to include, but are not limited to:

• - Reception and Telephone duties, operating laboratory equipment including HIS/LIS systems, specimen handling and processing, shipping of Laboratory specimens for at Reference Laboratories.


• - Performs Waived CLIA testing (e.g. Influenza, RSV, Group Strep A, urine HCG, MONO, WBC, Hemoglobin, CMP, INR, UA and IFOB).


• - Perform and document quality control on analyzers such as the Piccolo, HemoCue and Urocheck.


• - Documentation on daily worksheets.


• - Registering, ordering and obtaining patient samples per physician orders.


• - Phlebotomy - collection of Blood samples.


• - Obtaining blood samples by skin puncture and venipuncture.


• - Therapeutic blood collection and Bone Marrow.


• - Order and distribute supplies.


• - Must have the ability to work varying shifts.
