Job summary

UW Health Laboratory Services is seeking a Lab Assistant - Clinical Labs to perform phlebotomy and associated processing tasks in a full-time role based in Wisconsin. You will be part of a team supporting accurate specimen handling, labeling, and entry of tests in the LIMS system, while collaborating with pathologists, physicians, technologists and clinical staff.

The role requires phlebotomy training and a minimum of six months’ experience, with opportunities for growth and access to UW Health

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of accredited Phlebotomy Training program with clinical rotation.
• Six months of Phlebotomy and Specimen Processing Experience (Required).
• Preferred: One year of phlebotomy and processing experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform standardized and specialized phlebotomy procedures on patients of all ages with proper patient identification and specimen labeling.
• Complete specimen receiving and processing, load onto instruments or perform the kit testing, and perform instrument maintenance and clerical duties.
• Patient check-in and order entry of laboratory tests in the laboratory information system.
• Interact daily with pathologists, physicians, technologists, clinical staff, nursing unit personnel, and patients.
