The University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Assistant I to support routine lab operations across multiple laboratories, following CLIA guidelines. You will handle specimens, ensure accurate data entry, and assist with testing under supervision.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of CLAI or equivalent hospital experience. Preferred are additional biology/chemistry coursework to strengthen candidacy.

Qualifications

• Two years of work experience as CLAI or equivalent in a clinical/hospital setting.

Responsabilités

• Receives and accession patient samples into the Laboratory Information System with accurate patient data.
• Prepares specimens, performs handling procedures, and stores specimens as required.
• Addresses specimen integrity issues and documents quality assurance notes.
• Performs add-on testing as directed and communicates results to internal/external clients.
• Supports testing from waived to moderate complexity under supervision.
