Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina seeks a Clinical Laboratory Assistant II to perform varied laboratory testing support, clerical and computer tasks, specimen accessioning and processing, phlebotomy, and to serve as a liaison between patients, physicians and the lab in inpatient and outpatient settings.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or Equivalent; Associates degree preferred; ASPT or ASCP certification preferred; previous healthcare laboratory experience; Mission offers

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Associates Degree preferred.
• ASPT or ASCP certification preferred.
• Healthcare setting experience as Laboratory assistant, phlebotomist or clerk.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory testing support and clerical/computer tasks.
• Accessioning and processing of specimens.
• Performs phlebotomy and assists with specimen collections.
• Acts as liaison between patients, physicians, nursing and the laboratory.
