Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Six months of prior experience as a lab assistant.
• Certification in Phlebotomy is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares specimens for analysis by registering and accessioning orders via HIS/LIS.
• Performs established pre-analytical and analytical laboratory procedures within policy.
• Operates, maintains, and repairs laboratory equipment within training scope.
• Supports technologists by loading instruments, preparing reagents, thawing, pooling, and handling blood products.
• Assists in preparation and processing of bone marrow specimens.
• Receives, identifies, accessioning, processes and transports specimens.
• Maintains a safe, organized work area and performs clerical duties.
• Provides laboratory customer service including phlebotomy requests and result inquiries.
