Job summary

The Embassy of Tunkhannock is seeking a Cook to prepare food in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and with our policies, under the direction of the Head Cook and Director of Food Services.

Responsibilities include reviewing menus, preparing and portioning meals, coordinating dietary service with other departments, and ensuring dietary procedures and substitutions follow policy while maintaining menus and submitting required forms.

Responsibilities

• Review menus prior to preparation of food.
• Inspect special diet trays to assure that the correct diet is served to the resident in accordance with diet order and correction portion size
• Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submit to the Director of Food Services.
• Coordinate dietary service with other departments as necessary.
• Work with the facility's dietitian as necessary and implement recommended changes as required.
• Assure that dietary substitutions are made in accordance with facility dietitian recommendations
• Ensure that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
• Assist in standardizing the methods in which work will be accomplished.
• Assume the authority, responsibility and accountability of Cook.
• Ensure that menus are maintained
