Job summary

BSA Hospital in Amarillo, TX is seeking a variable shift, PRN Radiology Clinical Intern to join the Diagnostic Imaging Department. This role supports radiographic exams under supervision and assists with patient prep and equipment setup.

The position requires enrollment in the Amarillo College Radiography Program, a high school diploma or GED, and BLS certification within 14 days of hire or transfer. Flexibility to volume is expected.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be currently enrolled in the Amarillo College Radiography Program in good standing.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited radiography program with an anticipated completion date.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision of a registered and licensed Radiologic Technologist, perform radiology-related functions.
• Position patients' radiographic exams and assist with preparing exam rooms, equipment, supplies, and contrast medications.
• Must be flexible to accommodate varying patient volumes.
• When a Radiology student clinical intern is on-site and employed by the Diagnostic Imaging Department, the intern must not perform radiation exposures as per the Texas Board of Medical Radiologic Technology.

• Positioning patients' radiographic exams, the aide is also responsible for preparing exam rooms, equipment, supplies, and contrast medications.

• When a Radiology student clinical intern is on-site and working as an employee of the Diagnostic Imaging Department,
• The Radiology clinical intern must not make any radiation exposures in accordance with the Texas Board of Medical Radiologic Technology.
