Job summary

Physicians East in Winterville, NC is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant – Clinical Intake Specialist I to join our primary care team. You will support the clinical intake process, assist patients with exams, document histories, and manage vital signs and lab communications.

The role requires an accredited Medical Assistant credential, current certification, and EMR/HER experience. You will work full-time at our Winterville site with some early/late hours and potential overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited associate degree Medical Assistant program and current certification.
• Experience in EMR/HER software required.
• Professional demeanor and privacy considerations for patients and families.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to actively listen.
• Ability to draft a narrative account of events in grammatically correct English.
• Ability to spell, proofread and edit written text.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients to exam room and prepares patients for examination.
• Assist patient to complete health history.
• Measure vitals accurately and record health information.
• Document allergies, medications and pertinent lab work.
• Perform delegated procedures under supervision per policy.
• Order, stock and maintain exam rooms and clinic areas.
• Relay messages and manage patient flow.
• Notify patients of lab results.
