Job summary

VCU Health seeks a Clinical Informatics Pharmacist to serve as an embedded informatics leader within Information Technology, optimizing medication-use technology and related clinical systems to improve patient safety and align operations with enterprise digital strategy.

The role coordinates between Pharmacy Operations and IT for governance, workflow design, and training, spanning Epic Willow, Beacon, and related systems, including oncology, transplant, and research medication processes.

Qualifications

• Requires a B.S. in Pharmacy from an accredited program.
• Pharm.D. or ASHP-accredited residencies preferred.
• Active Pharmacist License in state of residence; Epic certification preferred within 6 months and 3 attempts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary informatics liaison between Pharmacy Operations, service lines, and IT for medication-related systems.
• Lead evaluation and redesign of medication-use workflows to enhance safety, compliance, and efficiency.
• Provide governance and training alignment for enterprise pharmacy systems and specialty domains (e.g., oncology, transplant).
• Participate in Pharmacy governance forums, safety committees, and system standardization efforts.
• Partner with education and leadership to develop and maintain EHR training curricula reflecting current workflows.
