Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System Corporation seeks a Pharmacy Informatics Specialist to support the creation, configuration, and management of clinical information and knowledge within the EHR for safe medication management.

Responsibilities include building and maintaining inpatient pharmacy applications, ensuring interoperability with EPIC systems, and collaborating across departments to align workflows with clinical standards. Candidates must have PharmD and Maryland Pharmacist License.

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Pharmacy required unless graduated from U.S. School of Pharmacy in or before 2003 OR Foreign Equivalent.
• 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience.
• Maryland Pharmacist License.

Responsibilities

• Build and ongoing maintenance of the inpatient pharmacy application of the EHR including CDS tools, Medication Lists, Order Sets, Best Practice Advisories, Reports and others to improve patient care.
• Collaborate with staff responsible for automation and purchasing to maintain proper integration between 3rd parties and Epic systems.
• Build strong relationships with staff from operations, other information systems team members, quality improvement, and others to ensure EHR build aligns with clinical standards.
• Familiar with operational processes, workflows, and practices to ensure appropriate EHR build.
• Participate in planning, development, implementation, upgrading, maintenance, and evaluation of clinical information systems; data collection and analysis and communication with multidisciplinary teams.
