Title: Clinical Informatics Analyst – Continuous Improvement Services (Level 1)

Reports To: Clinical Informatics Manager - Continuous Improvement Services

Class: Full‑Time

Type: Salaried, Exempt

The Informatics Analyst role, specializing in Optimization Services, serves as a consultative partner to our customers, leveraging expertise to advance the safety, efficiency, and quality of outcomes for both our clients and those they serve through our comprehensive portfolio of technology and services. Success in this role is defined by the ability to deliver measurable results, including increased adoption of best practices, improved operational performance, and the realization of quantifiable improvements in key metrics—through collaborative problem‑solving, data‑driven analysis, and continuous optimization of solutions.

For the Level 1 position, duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Lead routine customer communications to promote adoption of technologies and utilization of available services and track basic key5 performance indicators (KPIs) for each engagement.
  • Facilitate discovery meetings with customers to identify pain points, assess user needs, and document opportunities for process improvement and optimization.
  • Conduct analysis of current‑state operations by evaluating workflows, data flows, and system utilization to establish baselines and measurable outcomes. Use standard data visualization tools to present findings.
  • Apply lean thinking and methodologies to support workflow functionality and system performance improvements.
  • Understand customer objectives and identify opportunities for continuous optimization of technology solutions, contributing to plans that align with established goals.
  • Deliver recommendations for configuration changes, process improvements, and system support, with the ability to outline anticipated benefits.
  • Monitor adoption and effectiveness of recommendations by collecting feedback and tracking results against defined metrics.
  • Modify system configurators to reflect required functionality as outlined in assessment documentation, ensuring outcomes support optimization.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and other system support teams to evaluate the impact of changes or opportunities for enhancements.
  • Research and document baseline assessments of customers’ integrated systems using standard digital tools and processes.
  • Create and maintain documentation of user requirements and system configuration, following approved templates and version control practices.
  • Adhere to customer‑defined policies for system governance and change management, applying established methodologies and best practices.
  • Model adherence to standard work instructions and department processes.
  • Work with Application Specialists to plan and support training, implementation, and adoption of technology, and gather feedback post‑implementation.
  • Partner with Technicians and Application Specialists to ensure correct system configuration and performance.
  • Triage customer issues by providing initial resolution and escalating complex cases to appropriate subject matter experts.
  • Present a positive and professional image to the community on behalf of SWC and participate in industry events as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement through participation in ongoing learning and process enhancement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Travel obligations include, but are not limited to:
  • Frequent day travel within governed region is required
  • Infrequent overnight travel for special events and team member functions
Administrative responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Maintain data for benchmarking customer performance metrics
  • Maintain current state documentation for any/all governed systems
  • Assist with producing supporting material for presentations
  • Maintain vigorous documentation records within various platforms to track progress towards key objectives
  • Accurately record time allocated towards projects, service contracts, etc.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Clinical Informatics, Health Informatics, Nursing, Data Analytics, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, OR equivalent work

Skills:
  • Basic understanding of how to identify benefits (e.g., cost savings, efficiency gains) and assist in gathering information to support recommendations.
  • Familiarity with mapping and analyzing operational or clinical workflows, and experience using process mapping tools such as Visio or Lucidchart under guidance.
  • Hands‑on experience with system configuration and integration on platforms such as EMR/EHR, RTLS, mobility solutions, or related systems, with supervision or direction as needed.
  • Ability to coordinate and track tasks within multiple projects, with developing skills in project planning and stakeholder communication.
  • Basic understanding of healthcare operations, clinical informatics, and relevant policies related to technology adoption and optimization.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with customers and contribute to technology adoption and improvement efforts.
  • Familiarity with collaborative platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, Jira) and digital tools for documentation and communication.
  • Willingness to learn and participate in process improvement activities and a commitment to professional development.
  • Attention to detail in documentation: Produces clear, organized, and accurate records; reviews own work to ensure completeness and compliance with standards.
Physical, Mental, and Environmental Requirements:
  • Employees must stand, walk, climb, sit, and use their hands and fingers.
  • Some lifting of objects up to fifty pounds is required.
  • Reaching, grasping, and carrying activities are also required.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
