Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill seeks a Variant Analyst within the UNC Medical Center McLendon Clinical Laboratories to analyze patient genetic data and identify variants linked to cancer and heritable disease. You will lead and educate team members on variant interpretation within the UNC Medical Center Molecular Pathology and Genetics Laboratory.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD required in bioinformatics/genetics or related fields.
• Experience evaluating clinical validity, variant curation, or interpretation.
• Familiarity with ACMG/CAP guidelines for germline and somatic variants.

Responsibilities

• Variant database development and analysis for targeted panels.
• Develop and apply interpretation workflows based on guidelines.
• Develop reporting workflows and ensure quality across reports.
• Collaborate with medical and technical staff daily.
