Job summary

The University of Washington’s School of Medicine, Department of Medicine, Division of Medical Genetics, seeks a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor on the Clinical Practice Track. The role is based at UW Medical Center to care for medical and biochemical genetics patients and to teach students and residents.

Rank will be commensurate with experience. Duties include outpatient care, call coverage, some inpatient work, and active participation in education and scholarly activities.

Qualifications

• MD or DO or foreign equivalent.
• Board eligible or board certified in Clinical Genetics by the start date of the appointment.
• Excellent clinical competence as evidenced by evaluations or recommendations.
• Professionalism as evidenced by evaluations or recommendations.
• Washington state medical license and DEA licensure eligibility.
• USMLE steps completion for H-1B visa eligibility if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient and telemedicine evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of adult medical genetics and biochemical genetics patients.
• Care for biochemical genetics patients requiring infusion therapies.
• Adult medical genetics consultations in hospital settings.
• Share call for medical genetics and biochemical genetics consultations and emergencies.
• Engage in teaching for students, residents, and fellows.
• Contribute to department and hospital committees and scholarly activity.
