Job summary

The University of Washington School of Medicine, Department of Medicine, Division of Medical Genetics, seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor on the Clinical Practice Track to provide outpatient and infusion care for adult Medical Genetics and Biochemical Genetics patients. Position starts Jan 1, 2027 with 3-year initial appointment and on-call duties.

Responsibilities include teaching, scholarly activity, and service on committees; licensure and compliance with state law are required.

Qualifications

• MD or DO or foreign equivalent.
• Board eligible or board certified in Clinical Genetics by the start date.
• Washington state medical license & DEA licensure eligibility.
• USMLE steps completed for visa sponsorship where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat Adult Medical Genetics and Biochemical Genetics patients in outpatient clinics and via telemedicine.
• Provide care for Biochemical Genetics patients needing infusion therapies.
• Consult in the hospital for Adult Medical Genetics patients.
• Share on-call duties for Medical Genetics and Biochemical Genetics consultations and emergencies.
• Perform specialty procedures per clinical privileges.
• Maintain documentation and licensure; ensure state compliance.
• Teach students, residents, and fellows in didactic and clinical settings.
• Participate in departmental/hospital committees.
• Engage in scholarly activity to improve care, quality, and health equity.
