Job summary

Idaho State University in Pocatello, ID, invites applications for a 9-month Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Instructor in the Career and Technical Education program. The role is non-tenure track and starts August 2026, serving Pocatello, Twin Falls, and Idaho Falls locations.

The clinical faculty member will lead undergraduate and graduate CTE Educator Preparation, liaise with IDCTE, advise student organizations, and may have meetings outside the Pocatello area.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Education or appropriately related field (clinical instructor level)
• Three years of successful teaching experience within CTE in public secondary schools
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in the CTE program
• Use varied instructional modalities, primarily asynchronous online, with potential options for synchronous, face-to-face, hybrid, or HyFlex delivery
• Serve as the advisor for student clubs (e.g., BPA, FCCLA)
• Participate in departmental, school, college, and university service
• Support recruitment and retention efforts of CTE programs through advising activities
• Promote the profile and reputation of ISU School of Education
• Submit annual program assessment reports and funding proposals to secure IDCTE funding
