Job summary

The Chronicle of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a part-time Clinical Exercise Assistant at our Campus location. You will help patients with chronic diseases perform therapeutic exercise regimens including aerobic conditioning, strength training, and stretching.

Clerical duties such as data entry may be required. Qualifications include optional higher education substitution, potential progression from Clinical Assistant I to III, and completion of BLS or HIPAA within the first week.

Qualifications

• Equivalency statement: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of related work experience.
• Department may hire at Clinical Assistant I, II, or III levels depending on experience.
• Students majoring in health fields or those with rehab/exercise training experience preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card or HIPAA certification within first month of hire.

The position may also include clerical duties such as exercise data entry in patient records.

Responsibilities

Assists patients with chronic disease and disability with therapeutic exercise regimens. This may include aerobic conditioning, strength training, active and passive stretching exercise, and balance and ambulation. Students majoring in health related fields or persons with experience in rehabilitation services and exercise training preferred.

Current Basic Life Support Card or completion of certification within one month of hire. Completion HIPAA certification during first week of employment.

Minimum Qualifications

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).

Department may hire employee at one of the following joblevels:

• Clinical Assistant, I: Requires little to no related experience.
• Clinical Assistant, II: Requires at least 1 year of related experience.
• Clinical Assistant, III: Requires 3+ years of related experience.
