Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related healthcare field; if no Bachelor’s, must enroll in BSN within 2 years and complete within 5 years or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of clinical practice in a hospital setting.
• Knowledge in quality improvement activities and use of current evidence based practice.
• Knowledge of change management theory and process.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and uses appropriate clinically relevant sources of evidence for projects assigned.
• Oversees and participates in systematic collection of data to assess projects and improve outcomes.
• Assists the team in understanding data collection methods and data definitions.
• Participates in chart abstraction for clinical outcome measures and databases.
• Utilizes empirical evidence to assess practice and processes.
• Analyzes data to develop recommendations and strategies for improvement.
• Engages stakeholders and communicates effectively to drive change.
• Reports recommendations and facilitates team understanding to implement change.
• Uses clinical knowledge to produce reports with visuals showing outcomes.
• Supports evidence based practice and research activities.
• Partners with team to share knowledge on quality and patient safety and educates for adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Contributes to a safe work environment and promotes clinical excellence.
• Demonstrates energy and passion for quality outcomes and excellence.
• Leads quality initiatives to improve clinical outcomes.
• Supports continuous quality improvement.
• Applies quality methods (CAP, LEAN, 6th Sigma) to projects.
• Enhances knowledge of regulatory agencies and regulations.
• Ensures compliance through education and collaboration with units and departments.
• Conducts tracers to ensure compliance and identifies opportunities for improvement.
• Advises units on improvements needed to meet regulatory requirements.
• Collaborates with leadership to optimize data acquisition.
