Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System is seeking an Equipment Distribution Technician to manage the distribution, maintenance, and repair of clinical equipment across the Medical Center.

The role requires 2–3 years of related experience, a high school diploma or GED, and strong English and writing skills. Expect collaboration with Biomedical Engineering and adherence to safety and infection control protocols in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2–3 years of experience as an Equipment Distribution Technician preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English and perform basic math for inventory purposes.
• Proficiency with general computer use and recording maintenance/repairs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate procurement, maintenance, repair and distribution of clinical equipment.
• Repair and maintain equipment with Biomedical Engineering Technicians as needed.
• Inspect, clean, decontaminate and prepare equipment for storage and use.
• Assist with retrieval of contaminated equipment and ensure safe handling and cross-contamination prevention.
• Document maintenance and repairs, and communicate with EQD Team Lead & Manager.
