Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking an entry-level Clinical Engineering Technician I to maintain clinical equipment under the guidance of the Clinical Engineering leadership team. The role involves routine installation, testing, maintenance, calibration, and repair of a limited scope of medical equipment and systems to support patient care.

The technician will perform preventative maintenance, document results in CMMS, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure equipment readiness across hospital sites.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or military training aligned with AAMI Core Competencies.
• 1–2 years of repair and maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of basic electricity and hospital procedures.

Responsibilities

• Responds to basic support requests and resolves issues per SLAs.
• Ensures preventative maintenance is performed per schedule.
• Orders parts, inventories, tests equipment, documents results.
• Documents work in CMMS and provides monthly reports.
• Supports acuity equipment for direct patient care.
